Last Monday, art teachers Maryam and Lauren hosted a swanky art exposition for the art students of Zone D. The typically chaotically strewn classroom was transformed into a colorful display of art projects the students have been working on since February of this year. With Art of the World Set as her theme, Teacher Maryam chose projects such as fans from Japan, Maasai necklaces from Africa, Khamsa good luck hands from Morocco, famous landmark cut-outs of Peru, and Earth Day world maps. During each session of art, the students got a short lesson about a different culture. Students and families alike enjoyed the array of artwork as they snacked on pirouettes, wafers, and Inca Kola.
