This week the students at the LLI celebrated the Polish culture day led by our beloved English teacher Karolyn. The celebration started off with a presentation on Poland, how they celebrate Easter and traditional outfits from the south and other regions.
The students even sang the Polish versión of Happy Birthday and gave it their best! Karolyn gave out handouts of useful phrases/words and pronounced the words for them. They learnt about typical Polish dishes including pierogis, galabki, and paczki. Finally, the students watched a demo of how to make pierogis and tried their hands on it too! Strawberry was the choice filling. While the students mounded the filling on the dough circle, Karolyn taught them how to fold the dough over and pinch the edges firmly together.
